Can Valencia bounce back?

A wretched period for Valencia culminated in a Copa del Rey final defeat to Real Betis last weekend, losing on penalties to extend their current run of form to five games without a win.

José Bordalás’ side are clearly struggling defensively, failing to keep a clean sheet in four and with both teams netting in three of those games.

The picture is similar when considering only their games at the Mestalla, where both teams have netted in eight of their last ten, the other two ending 0-0, while they have picked up just two wins over that period.

Levante still fighting hard for survival

Levante looked dead and buried not so long ago, but they now have a six point gap to overturn with five games remaining, which could well be achievable.

Alessio Lisci has won six and drawn four of his 20 games in charge, 11 of which have seen both teams score, including six of the last seven.

That shows that they are finding the back of the net more regularly, though one clean sheet in their last nine on the road shows defensively they are still fragile.

I expect both teams to score in this game, but having lost just four of their last ten, Levante may well take something from it, with 2-1 to the visitors my correct score prediction.
