Walsall can deliver as favourites again

Walsall have been winners in five of their last six League Two home games and they look the best bet to beat Barrow on Saturday.

They finished last season with 77 points and won 21 games, and are leading the league table this having won eight of their 12 games so far. Barrow, who achieved 59 points last season from 15 wins, are 18th in the table with four wins, two draws and six losses.

Walsall have enjoyed four straight League Two successes at home and have lost just one of their last six on their own patch. They have momentum on their side.

Walsall have been impressive defensively at home this season, conceding just five goals in six League Two games – an average of 0.83 goals per game.

Walsall have been in fine form going forward, scoring in eight consecutive games and averaging 2.5 goals a game in their four League Two matches against bottom-half teams this season. They have found the net at least twice in three of their last four league games.

It has been profitable backing Walsall at odds-on this season, with a 2.93-unit profit and five wins from eight such games.

Walsall to win 1-0 at home looks a decent correct-score option. Three of Barrow’s last four League Two games have ended with under 2.5 goals and six of Walsall’s eight victories this season have been by a one-goal margin.
