Wellington Phoenix vs Adelaide United Betting Tips & Predictions

Adelaide United started the season terribly, but poor form from the top of the A-League and an exceptional run from Adelaide United have left them in 2nd position in the table and just two points adrift of leaders Western Sydney Wanderers. The visitors are the form team in the division and are looking to take advantage of a struggling Wellington Phoenix side.

The hosts have been slipping down the table for some time now, but their disastrous run of form has started to turn around in recent weeks as they have battled to two wins in their last three matches. In the A-League, Adelaide United are unbeaten since the end of November and have won ten of their 13 matches in that period. One of these was against Wellington Phoenix as they picked up a comprehensive 3-0 win in Adelaide on Boxing Day.

Wellington Phoenix may well be showing signs of a resurgence, but you can’t get away from the fact that they have lost five of their last seven matches in the A-League and are playing a very good Adelaide United side who are high on confidence after their excellent run over the past few months. I’m expecting the visitors to get a win on Saturday, and odds of 11/10 for an Adelaide United win look really good value to me.

The visitors have been looking good up front over the last month or so as well, and Wellington Phoenix have been known to collapse at the back. This makes a 3-1 win for Adelaide United look very attractive, especially when the odds come in at 14/1.
