West Bromwich Albion vs Derby Predictions
- West Brom are unbeaten in the Championship with four wins and two draws after six games.
- Derby have three defeats in four away games in all competitions.
- Derby have conceded twice in two of their three away fixtures in the Championship.
West Brom looking to respond after Lions stalemate
Derby have probably exceeded expectations in these early stages of the season with six points from as many games but it is hard to see them getting a result at table-toppers West Brom on Tuesday.
The Baggies saw a four-game winning run ended by Millwall at the weekend as they were held to a 1-1 draw at the Hawthorns, with a first-half penalty miss proving costly.
The visit of Midlands rivals Derby looks like an ideal chance to get back to winning ways for Albion though, with the Rams’ starting to struggle after a fairly bright start to the season.
County went down 2-0 at Birmingham on Friday night and despite seeing plenty of the ball never really looked like getting anything out of the game at St Andrew’s.
Derby have two defeats and two draws from their last four games across all competitions and have three defeats in four away games so far this season, with one win.
Albion are unbeaten at home in the league seven points from three games and should be able to claim another win on Tuesday.
A home win is a fairly short price but I’m reluctant to mess about with this fixture too much as the Baggies only have one big win so far this season, having seen off Sheffield United 4-0 at the Hawthorns in August, and Derby are yet to be on the receiving end of a thrashing. With that in mind, a routine if uninspiring 2-0 win for the hosts is my correct score prediction.
