Hammers are hitting top stride

West Ham failed to win any of their opening three games in the Championship but the ante-post title favourites have responded well with a trio of victories over Wolves, Derby and Bolton helping steer them towards the top end of the table.

The Hammers will be expected to bounce back to the Premier League at the first time of asking and having recruited heavily, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side are already finding their groove.

The Londoners have looked extremely sharp in attack, defeating one of their Premier League rivals from last season Wolves 4-2 at home before scoring three in wins over Derby and Bolton.

With fans favourite Jarrod Bowen hitting top form and new recruits Joel Piroe, Arne Engels and Divine Mukasa already playing key roles, it could be ominous signs for Wrexham on their trip to the capital.

The Red Dragons have lost only one of their first six Championship outings but four of those have ended in draws, the latest of which came at home to Burnley on Tuesday.

Phil Parkinson’s men did claim their sole success in a 3-0 victory at an injury-hit Millwall and will be expected to progress as the season develops.

Wrexham can take some confidence from the fact that West Ham have kept only one clean sheet in eight outings this season and that came against a struggling Derby outfit.

However, this could well be Wrexham’s toughest away day of the season and the Hammers can showcase their title credentials with another high-scoring win.
