West Ham vs Tottenham Hotspur Predictions

West Ham have had an up and down season to say the least. They have secured famous away wins at the Etihad, Anfield, and the Emirates but then gone on to lose against the likes of Bournemouth and Newcastle. At the moment it is on the up though. They managed to break out of their eight match winless streak towards the end of 2015 and come into this match having won eight of their last 13 outings.

This is largely down to them rediscovering their shooting boots, although the recovery of Dimitri Payet certainly hasn’t harmed proceedings. They come into this match having only failed to score in one of their last 13 outings, with both teams finding the net in seven of those matches.

This has lifted them back into contention for a European qualification spot in the Premier League, and a win on Wednesday could see them leapfrog Manchester United into 5th. The competitions for those qualifying spots is hot though, so they will have to keep their form up for the remainder of the season.

Spurs are in contention for a much bigger prize: The Premier League title. They came from a goal behind against Swansea on Sunday to win 2-1, a result which took their Premier League winning streak to six matches. A defeat in the FA Cup and a draw in the Europa League has split up this run, but the points from their league games have allowed them to close the gap on Leicester. The visitors come into this match just two points behind the Premier League leaders and now three points clear of arch-rivals Arsenal in 3rd.

Like West Ham, Tottenham Hotspur’s excellent run is down to their in form attack. They have scored 12 goals in their last six Premier League games and have only failed to find the back of the net in one of their last 13 league matches.

Here we have two in form attacking sides going head to head and looking to continue their excellent run of form. This makes both teams getting a goal or two very likely in my opinion, so odds of 4/5 for Both Teams to Score look very good value. I fancy Spurs to keep their winning streak going though, so a 2-1 win for them is the correct score prediction that I’m backing.
