Leganes vs Deportivo La Coruna Predictions

The bottom three in La Liga has remained the same for almost the duration of this campaign. However, if one of those sides was to put some form together and beat the drop, it looks almost certain that it’ll be one of these two clubs that replaces them in the relegation zone so there is plenty at stake here and it’s likely to be quite a cagey game.

Neither side are playing with much confidence right now, although Leganes did put in an exceptional display at Camp Nou last weekend and were unlucky to lose 2-1. However, overall their form is pretty desperate. They’ve gone 13 matches without a win and have recorded only one victory in their last 18 outings in all competitions. Therefore, they do little to justify their status as favourites here, particularly given they’ve only won once all season at home and average just 0.64 points per game on their own patch.

A chance for Deportivo to win you might think but one look at their away record and current form suggests it’d be unwise to put any money on it. The Galicians have not won any of their 8 matches so far in 2017 and they haven’t won on the road all season. Their problems away from home go back further than that in truth. Depor have won only 1 of their last 24 away league games and that was against a Villarreal side that was more concerned with their European commitments at the end of last season.

On a slightly more positive note, Depor do have more players capable of making things happen than their opponents. One of them is Emre Colak, who is a threat from an attacking midfield position and has popped up with goals in 2 of his last 3 appearances. He could cause problems here for Leganes and backing Colak to score anytime at 9/2 could be worth a flutter.

Given neither Depor or Leganes have won yet in 2017, it’s hard to make a strong case for either side coming out on top though. 5 of Depor’s last 8 matches have finished level and that wouldn’t be a disaster for either side here, so backing the Draw at 11/5 looks to offer the best value in the result market.
