Wrexham to Win

Reason for tip

Wrexham look to have found their feet in the Championship quicker than Birmingham, who have struggled on the road lately, so take the Welsh outfit to come out on top.

Wrexham 2-1

Reason for tip

There have been plenty of goals at the Racecourse Ground so far this season with five of eight league games featuring more than two, so a 2-1 home win appeals.

Wrexham vs Birmingham Predictions

  • Both teams have scored in seven of Wrexham’s eight Championship games this season.
  • Birmingham have lost their last three away matches.
  • Wrexham have lost one of their last six league games.

Wrexham beginning to find their feet

It has taken a little while for both Wrexham and Birmingham to get used to life back in the Championship, but it is the Welsh side who look to have got some wind in their sails and they can see off the Blues on Friday.

Opening losses to Southampton and West Brom were harsh lessons for Phil Parkinson’s side, but they now look to have found their feet with QPR being the only other team to have beaten them in their following six matches, which included a creditable 1-1 draw at Leicester on Tuesday.

They have also won at Millwall and Norwich and as they settle in to a new class of company, there are signs that they will at least be comfortable back in the second-tier.

Away goals a concern for Blues

Birmingham, meanwhile, look to have a little further to go even though 11 points from their first eight games looks a respectable tally for a newly promoted team.

However, they needed injury-time goals from Lyndon Dykes to beat both Blackburn and Swansea and their away form is a concern.

They have failed to score in their last three matches on the road – a stat they should react positively to as they head to Wales – so the balance is tipped in the Dragons favour and they could come out on top by a 2-1 scoreline.
