Wrexham and Both Teams To Score

Reason for tip

Wrexham are marching towards the league title and should be too strong for York, but they have just two clean sheets in their last eight at home so backing the hosts with both teams to score appeals.

Wrexham 3-1

Reason for tip

Wrexham score on average 3.2 goals-per-game at home and have hot 14 across their last five games overall. As such, we’re backing them to record a fairly comfortable 3-1 win over York.

Wrexham vs York City Predictions

  • National League leaders Wrexham have won 17 of their 18 home league games
  • Wrexham have conceded in ten of their 17 home league games
  • York have failed to score in just five of their 19 away league games

Wrexham looking to keep hold of top spot

Wrexham finished second behind Stockport in the National League title race last season, but this time around it is they who are in pole position and have promotion in their sights with eight games to go.

The Red Dragons, who are backed by Hollywood owners in the form of Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, have a three-point cushion on Notts County with a game in hand.

Their 94-point haul is already six more than they finished with last season and they’ll be fully expected to build on that at home to York, who are still looking below them with only an eight-point gap between them and the relegation spots.

Wrexham have won 17 and drawn one of their 18 home games, scoring 57 goals and conceding only 15.

They have been breached in 10 of those 17 wins, however, so there could be a consolation prize in it for York.

The visitors have failed to score in only five of their 19 away games and there have been 96 goals scored across their 38 league games, so this should be an entertaining affair.

Four of Wrexham’s 17 home league wins have finished 3-1, which could be the way to go for correct-score punters.
