Everton vs Newcastle Predictions
- Newcastle have won one of their eight away matches this season
- Seven of the Magpies’ last nine games have featured at least three goals
- Everton have lost one of their six league games at their new stadium
Toffees enjoying their new surroundings
Everton had to do things the hard way to claim a 1-0 win at Manchester United on Monday having gone down to ten men in the early stages, but things are looking good for the Toffees and they are particularly looking the part at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
Tottenham are the only visiting team to have won at the Merseysiders’ new stadium and with David Moyes’s team having kept three clean sheets at their new base, they will be confident they can get the better of Newcastle, who have been struggling on the road.
Eddie Howe’s Magpies are struggling to get much consistency in their season and 14th is a disappointing standing for a team who are playing in the Champions League this term.
Their away form have been the chief reason for their underwhelming campaign and it may get worse before it gets better.
Away form is holding Magpies back
The Tynesiders have lost their last four road matches against Brighton, West Ham, Brentford and Marseille and the only success they have enjoyed on their travels was a 4-0 win in the Champions League at Union Saint-Gilloise.
While their first three away games of the season were goalless, their last five matches have all featured at least three goals and they face a team who are becoming increasing confident in front of their own supporters.
So it makes sense to back Everton to win this one and there should be a few goals, so correct-score enthusiasts are pointed towards a 2-1 Toffees success.
Keane provides a goal threat
One player who could oblige for anytime-goalscorer punters at a big price is Everton defender Michael Keane.
He was on hand to score in the 2-0 win over Fulham the last time the Toffees were in action on their own patch.
Keane was also on hand to net in the 1-1 draw with West Ham and it is noticeable that he had four attempts in the goalless draw with Aston Villa and three in the 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, so he is clearly enjoying his new surroundings and he could score again.
