TSG Hoffenheim vs FSV Mainz 05 Predictions

Hoffenheim are a strong bet to win at home to Mainz on Saturday. Christian Ilzer’s side have been prolific in front of goal on their own turf this season, scoring 28 times in 13 games – an average of 2.15 goals per game.

They are fifth in the Bundesliga, six places and 20 points above Mainz, with 15 wins from their 27 games this season. The visitors are 11th with seven wins, nine draws and 11 defeats.

Hoffenheim will be confident of scoring, having netted three or more goals in 12 of their 27 Bundesliga games this season. They have also averaged over two goals a game in their matches against bottom-half teams.

The visitors have been vulnerable defensively of late, with Mainz failing to keep a clean sheet in 17 of their last 20 Bundesliga games.
