290/1 Champions League final Bet Builder & 40/1 for Real to win!

Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.

With the Champions League final on Saturday night, we’ve called in some help from the Racing Post once again in a special edition of our weekly Experts’ Best Bets articles.

We’ve pooled together five selections for the big game which you can back at 292/1 with Paddy Power. New Paddy Power customers can also claim a fantastic promotion for this weekend’s showpiece clash, with 40/1 odds on Real Madrid to lift the trophy and a massive 100/1 for Dortmund to spring a surprise.

Champions League Final Experts’ Bet Builder Tip

Jamie Griffith

Vinicius Junior to score anytime at 7/5 with Paddy Power

Real Madrid’s star forward Vinicius Junior opened the scoring in their last Champions League final – against Liverpool in 2022 – and he could repeat the trick this time around.

The Brazilian superstar scored the opener in Los Blancos’ semi-final first leg against Bayern Munich and also netted first in his side’s Spanish Super Cup final against bitter rivals Barcelona back in January, cementing his status as a big-game player.

The last four Champions League finals have finished 1-0 and another tight showpiece should be expected, with Vinicius Junior the likeliest man to get the ball rolling at Wembley and lead Madrid to a 15th title.

Donyell Malen to have two or more shots on target at 16/5 with Paddy Power

The markets suggest Real Madrid should enjoy a routine victory at Wembley, but opponents Dortmund still look likely to be positive and could demonstrate plenty of endeavour in the final third.

One player to keep an eye on is their Dutchman Donyell Malen, who has demonstrated throughout the Bundesliga that he is not afraid to have a dig and when he does, he tends to trouble the goalkeeper.

Of the 50 attempts he made in the league campaign, half of them were on target, and while he missed the quarter-final success over Atletico Madrid and the last-four triumph over Paris Saint-Germain, he looks set to come back into the reckoning.

Malen has had 23 attempts in seven Champions League appearances this term, 11 of which have been on target so 16/5 looks a hefty price to hit at least two goalboard efforts in Saturday’s showpiece.

Ian Maatsen to be carded at 16/5 with Paddy Power

Maatsen has impressed since his January loan move from Chelsea, with the Dutch defender expected to make a permanent move this summer. While the left-back has performed well, he has frequently seen his name taken by the referee.

Maatsen has been booked five times in 16 Bundesliga appearances, while he left Stamford Bridge with two bookings despite making just three starts. In the Champions League, Maatsen has three bookings in six games. The Dutchman has been cautioned four times in his last 540 minutes of action, so back him for a booking at Wembley.

This selection also features in our 257/1 Ultimate Bet Builder too.

Eduardo Camavinga to be fouled 3+ times at 13/10 with Paddy Power

Eduardo Camavinga has been fouled 94 times in all competitions this season, averaging 3.1 fouls drawn per 90 minutes.

16 of these fouls have come in the Champions League and he has drawn at least three fouls in three of his last four appearances, totalling 12 fouls in this period and being fouled once every 21 minutes on average.

Gareth Freeman

Mats Hummels to have 1+ shots on target at 9/2 with Paddy Power

I quite like the idea of BVB’s defensive talisman Mats Hummels to score at 14/1 but the 9/2 on offer for just a shot on target looks like a great outside play.

Admittedly he is not necessarily known for his attacking prowess, but Hummels will come forward for any set pieces and these chances may well provide Dortmund with some of their best opportunities to score. Hummels also comes into the game with a bit of a point to prove after missing out on Germany’s Euro 2024 squad, although having managed over 500 appearances for Dortmund across two spells he doesn’t necessarily need any extra motivation.

The veteran defender will leave everything on the pitch on Saturday and he did crop up with a goal when it really counted against PSG in the last four and he has had a solid eight shots in 12 Champions League games, and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see him at least test the Los Blancos stopper at Wembley.
