Current form seems to fly out the window when your club meets their bogey team, and every club has that one annoying opponent that they just can’t ever seem to get the better of.

This weekend, up and down the English football pyramid, several teams are gearing up to face a nemesis they just can’t quite ever defeat, and we have some bogey team betting tips lined up below with that in mind.

Bogey team predictions and betting tips

Coventry City vs Wycombe Wanderers (Championship)

Betting tip: Coventry City to win

Coventry City have won two of their last three home assignments, and the Sky Blues are favoured to keep the good results at St. Andrew’s coming at bottom club Wycombe’s expense on Saturday.

Wanderers have come unstuck in each of their last four visits to play Coventry, and having lost to nil in each of their last three Championship tests on the road overall, another afternoon of disappointment awaits.

Preston North End vs Luton Town (Championship)

Betting tip: Preston North End to win

Preston are in dire need of a pick-me-up following a four-match winless run, and a clash with Luton at Deepdale could provide just the tonic for under-pressure boss Alex Neil.

North End have won each of their last eight encounters with the Hatters on home turf, and having watched Luton lose six times in their last nine matches on the road, Preston will hope to push for victory again.

Tranmere Rovers vs Exeter City (League Two)

Betting tip: Tranmere Rovers to win

League Two playoff rivals Tranmere and Exeter face-off at Prenton Park in what could prove a pivotal fixture, though the head-to-head record between the sides suggests Rovers are worth backing to prevail.

Remarkably, Tranmere have claimed the spoils in eight of their last nine skirmishes with Exeter on Merseyside and that positive sequence should hand them the advantage ahead of the teams’ latest clash on Saturday.

Scunthorpe United vs Southend United (League Two)

Betting tip: Scunthorpe to win

Scunthorpe have taken only one point from the last nine on offer at The Sands Venue Stadium, however, The Iron look ready to get back to winning ways at home against Southend United.

The second from bottom Shrimpers have won just one in their last eight attempts in League Two, and they were turned over on each of their last five visits to play Scunthorpe in Lincolnshire.

Everton vs Manchester City (FA Cup)

Betting tip: Manchester City to win

Manchester City have been utterly dominant against Everton in recent seasons, and their superb run of wins against the Toffees includes victories on each of their last four trips to Goodison Park.

The relentless Citizens swept Everton aside at that venue as recently as last month in an impressive 3-1 triumph over their hosts in the Premier League, and Pep Guardiola’s silverware hungry troops are expected to make their FA Cup quarter-final clash there on Saturday look equally routine.
