It’s the last day of top level football before the international break, so Sunday is packed full of action. Before players jet away and we get the inevitable lull in matches, we’ve called in tipsters from the Racing Post to pick out their best bets.

Together we’ve got six selections for the weekend spanning across Europe, while those six combine to make a massive accumulator tip covering Sunday’s biggest games. See our six selections and our 60/1 accumulator tip below.

Tip – Villarreal vs Real Betis – Real Betis DC at 8/11

Villarreal may not have deserved to lose at Old Trafford in midweek but the Europa League champions have still started the season poorly. They have won just one of their nine games in all competitions and have played out an incredible seven draws in this period, four of them goalless.

Real Betis, meanwhile, are going from strength to strength despite also competing on multiple fronts. Their 3-1 win in Hungary on Thursday made it five wins, three draws and just one defeat from nine games this season and that sole loss came at home to Real Madrid back in August.

Away from home they are unbeaten in nine matches stretching back to March and they avoided defeat in both La Liga meetings with Villarreal last season, including a 2-1 win at the Estadio de la Ceramica in February.

Fiorentina vs Napoli – Over 1.5 Napoli goals at 5/6

Fiorentina have won four of their six Serie A games this season, but they’ve suffered 3-1 defeats in their two big tests. La Viola lost by that scoreline against both Roma and Inter Milan, so it’s hard to be optimistic about their chances against the league leaders.

Napoli have won six from six so far this season and they’ve been in high-scoring form along the way. They’re averaging 2.67 goals per game in the league, while the Partenopei have scored at least twice in all eight games across all competitions this season. Back that good scoring run to continue.

Tip – Aberdeen vs Celtic – BTTS at 19/20

Celtic and Aberdeen are both struggling for form ahead of their meeting in the Premiership on Sunday and picking a winner here is a harder task than it perhaps normally would be.  One market that does stand out though is both teams to score, and at just shy of evens goals at both ends looks a decent bet here.

Both teams have scored in eight of the Dons’ 11 games across all competitions this season and they have only failed to score in one of their six matches at Pittodrie, while Celtic have conceded in all seven of their away games and have only failed to score in two of their road matches.

Tip – St Etienne vs Lyon – Lyon to win at 3/4

Lyon won both Le Derby encounters with St-Etienne last season and Peter Bosz’s men look well-equipped to once again get the better of their rivals this weekend.

They have had a mixed bag of results in Ligue 1 this season but have looked sharper recently with four wins in their last six matches across all competitions, defeating Brondby 3-0 on Thursday night.

Lyon have found goals beyond sidelined Moussa Dembele and can account for a St-Etienne side rooted to the foot of the Ligue 1 standings with three draws and five defeats from their eight assignments.

Tip – West Ham vs Brentford – Brentford DC at 10/11

Brentford have shown throughout their short Premier League career why they are not to be taken lightly. They have the second lowest expected goals conceded behind Manchester City with 6.4 and gave as good as they got in a 3-3 draw with Liverpool last week.

West Ham’s Europa League exploits have started very successfully but the extra games will soon start to take a toll on the Hammers’ squad and Brentofrd look good value to get a result from this game.

West Ham will also be without the influential Vladimir Coufal and the Bees may sense a good opportunity to get at least a point from their jaunt across London.

Tip – Crystal Palace vs Leicester – Crystal Palace to win at 2/1

It took a little while for the Eagles to find their feet under Patrick Vieira, but there have been signs in recent games that they can improve on last season’s 14th-place finish.

They put in a commanding performance in a 3-0 win over Tottenham, played well to earn a decent point at West Ham and were stung by a late equaliser against Brighton last time, so they should have plenty of hunger when taking on the Foxes.

Brendan Rodgers’s side have been mainly disappointing. Successes over pointless Norwich and against Millwall in the League Cup are the only wins they have posted in their last eight games and they also have to recover from the disappointment and travel demands of a 1-0 Europa League defeat at Legia Warsaw.
