Royal Ascot continues on Thursday with Day 3 of the meet and we’ve enlisted the help of Racing Post’s Graeme Rodway to give you all his top tips for Ladies Day!

2.30 Norfolk Stakes

Experts’ Best Bet: Walbank

Classy juvenile who finished ahead of Coventry third Royal Scotsman when second on his debut at this track and he improved significantly on that promising debut at York last time, bolting up by seven lengths. He put in some smart sectionals that day and will be hard to beat.

3.05 King George V Stakes

Experts’ Best Bet: Mandobi

Lightly raced and progressive three-year-old who was impressive when easily landing a 1m4f novice at Thirsk last time. That wasn’t a strong race, but the handicapper couldn’t overreact and has given him a mark of 95 for his handicap debut. That might underestimate his ability.

3.40 Ribblesdale Stakes

Experts’ Best Bet: Mukaddamah

Her form figures read 123, but she has improved with each run and there was a lot to like about her third behind Oaks third Nashwa at Newbury last time. She was slowly away and got left with a lot to do, but stayed on well on the outside. The step up to 1m4f should suit.

4.20 Gold Cup

Experts’ Best Bet: Kyprios

Lightly raced and improving young stayer who was very quick over the last three furlongs when winning a Group 3 at Leopardstown last month. He is open to plenty of further progress on just his seventh career run and can have the legs of older rivals Stradivarius and Trueshan.

5.00 Britannia Stakes

Experts’ Best Bet: Saga

Pulled 12 lengths clear of the rest when second to subsequent German 2,000 Guineas winner and unlucky St James’s Palace fourth Maljoom over a mile at Kempton in April and is worth another chance after a below par run in a 7f handicap here last time. He could bounce back with blinkers and tongue-strap applied, with Frankie Dettori back replacing Robert Havlin.

5.35 Hampton Court Stakes

Experts’ Best Bet: Reach For The Moon

Looks a class apart in a particularly weak running of this race in terms of numbers. Just five runners take on The Queen’s runner and Reach For The Moon should be too good for them if he can repeat his last-time-out second to My Prospero. He should improve for that run, too.

6.10 Buckingham Palace Stakes

Experts’ Best Bet: Ouzo

Finished fourth in last year’s Royal Hunt Cup off a 2lb higher mark and bounced back to form when second in a hot Sandown handicap three weeks ago. The front two pulled a long way clear of the third and a reproduction of that would give Ouzo a big chance back at 7f.
