Formula 1 makes its annual pitstop in Britain this weekend and with three top tier British drivers on the grid there are plenty of betting options available for the patriotic punters among you.

While eight-time World Constructors’ Championship winners Mercedes haven’t really been at the races so far this season, the Brackley-based team have brought numerous upgrades to the car for Silverstone and could have narrowed the gap to Red Bull and Ferrari.

Could Lewis Hamilton be in line for a shock ninth win at Silverstone, or will George Russell or Lando Norris finally earn their maiden F1 victory?

All 3 British drivers to be on the podium – 50/1

In all honestly, this would take something of a miracle but Silverstone has thrown up its fair share of surprises in the past.

Red Bull and Ferrari have both struggled with reliability issues this year and, while it would take a catastrophic failure from all four cars for this bet to land, anything can happen in the British Grand Prix.

Max Verstappen, Sergio Perez, Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz have suffered nine retirements between them this season and both Lewis Hamilton and George Russell would fancy their chances of a win should their rivals hit a bump in the road.

Lando Norris took his only podium of the season at Imola but has finished in the top seven four times, not to mention taking third in Free Practice 2 on Friday.

Hamilton to win, Norris & Russell podium – 200/1

If you fancy taking it to the next level, the four-fold odds increase to back Hamilton to come out on top in an all-British podium looks worth it.

Hamilton is the most successful F1 driver in history and is by far the most accomplished at Silverstone, taking a record eight British Grand Prix wins and winning each of the last three.

He was second fastest in Free Practice 2 on Friday and under two-tenths off Carlos Sainz. The Mercedes upgrades look to have had a real impact and Norris’ third-place in FP2 shows promise, too.

Russell top 6 finish, Hamilton & Norris points finish – 5/4

As the odds suggest, this is the most likely of the British-based bets to land on Sunday.

Formerly Mr Saturday, George Russell has earned the nickname Mr Consistent this season after finishing in the top five in all nine races so far.

He is the only driver on the grid to achieve this, while Lewis Hamilton has only been out of the points once this season and Lando Norris has made the top ten in six of his nine Grands Prix.

Any British driver to win – 4/1

Personallly, I would probably prefer to just back Hamilton at 7/1 after his FP2 session and taking into account his extraordinary record at Silverstone, but ruling out George Russell doesn’t seem wise.

The Kings Lynn driver has stood on three podiums to Hamilton’s two this season and, as previously mentioned, is the only driver on the grid to finish in the top five in every Grand Prix so far.

As for Lando Norris, his first win has to come at some point, so why not at Silverstone after an excellent FP2 session on Friday?

Hamilton to win, Russell podium & Norris points finish – 33/1

If the Mercedes upgrade package really is as good as it looks, this looks a solid bet at 33/1.

Charles Leclerc and Max Verstappen looked a bit off the pace in FP2 and I would back Hamilton over Carlos Sainz every day of the week.

And, if Hamilton has the package to win the British Grand Prix, George Russell certainly has what it takes to get on the podium and Lando Norris has finished in the points in six of his nine Grands Prix this season.
