Born in the south east of Ireland, Simon put his life-long love of football to good use when he started a successful independent blog in 2010. Before tee off last Thursday, we picked out Antoine Rozner as the one to watch, tipping the Frenchman at 20/1 odds to finish ahead of the field in the latest leg of the European Open.
In a thrilling climax, Rozner holed an incredible 60-foot putt on the 72nd hole as he made a closing birdie to win the tournament in dramatic fashion.
The Frenchman entered the final day in Doha three shots off the lead but he clawed himself into contention alongside Italian rival Guido Migliozzi, who came from even further back to set the clubhouse target at seven under after a 65.
Stood on the 18th tee, Rozner was in a tie for the lead with Migliozzi and he faced a tricky two-putt to guarantee a playoff after leaving his approach into the last well short.
However, the 28-year-old’s first effort found the bottom of the cup, handing him a closing 67 and a winning score of eight under!
