Another exciting week of Ligue 1 action is ahead of us with the usual suspects of PSG, Lyon and Monaco all raring to go. The league possesses some of Europe’s most clinical marksmen and that’s exactly what we’re going to have a look at here.

We’re picked out four players who we’re backing to score this weekend with some more known than others but without further ado let’s take a look at the quarter of attacking talent.

Ángel Di María – Caen vs PSG

When it was announced that Neymar was to miss a large chunk of the season due to a metatarsal injury, many started to look about for who would fill the Brazilian’s boots. Ángel Di María has absolutely been the man who has done that so far. The Argentine has operated alongside Kylian Mbappé in a front two and has hardly looked out of place with him contributing to many goals as PSG have barely dropped in form.

He has managed 28 shots in his last nine league matches and this has finally started to pay off as he has netted five times in his last seven games with his performance in midweek carrying him to an impressive brace.

With his side facing one of the worst teams in the league, Caen, he can be pretty confident that PSG are going to thrash them and we’re backing him to continue this purple patch of goals with another here. He has been extremely effective in the absence of Neymar and if he wants to keep up the pitch to be a starter in this PSG side, he needs to keep scoring.

Gelson Martins – Angers vs MONACO

Martins found it difficult to get in the starting eleven under Diego Simeone at Atlético Madrid but he has walked into this Monaco side with a real arrogance as he has quickly become one of their most important players. The on-loan winger has only played four league matches for les Monegasques but is already their third top scorer with three goals. He has been in scintillating form as he has bombed on to the Ligue 1 scene and there is no sign of that letting up.

He has now scored in three consecutive games and we’re backing that to continue as Monaco face an Angers side that lost to bottom club Guingamp last week. Monaco have won three of their last four games with Martins a pivotal part of this success and we’re backing that to continue here.

Remi Oudin – REIMS vs Amiens

The young Frenchman has been one of the stars in this fantastic Reims side this year as David Guion’s men have adapted so well to Ligue 1 that they are now in with a real chance of qualifying for Europe. Only Juventus and Barcelona have a better unbeaten streak than Reims and much of that has been down to the craft and guile of Remi Oudin.

Operating as a left winger who cuts on to his right foot, he has been in devastating form recently with four goals in his last three games. These goals came against some pretty tough opponents as well, with Rennes and Montpellier both feeling the full power of Oudin at full pace. He is playing with so much confidence at the moment and he has a perfect opportunity to extend his team’s unbeaten record to eleven games here as they face relegation battlers Amiens. The Unicorns currently sit 17th and are real possibilities for the drop. With Reims in such fine form, we’re backing them to punish Amiens and Remi Oudin should be a vital part of that.

Rafael Leão – LILLE vs Dijon

Christophe Galtier’s Lille side have been led by a fantastic quartet of attacking talent with Jonathan Ikone, Jonathan Bamba and Nicolas Pepe playing behind the fantastic nineteen-year-old talent of Rafael Leão. The Portuguese striker wasn’t really utilised in his ten years at Sporting but they have missed out on a great talent as he has taken to Ligue 1 like a duck to water with seven goals in twelve starts.

He has been the spearhead in a 4-2-3-1 formation and has played the role to great effect with six goals in his last nine league matches. He has also started to develop his play in other areas as he got an assist last week and made three key passes. He is still very young but he has really broadcasted his abilities this season, playing a very difficult part in a team currently sitting 2nd in Ligue 1.

Lille are unbeaten in their last seven league games and face a Dijon side who have lost their last four games, conceding three in midweek against PSG. The Mustards are very fragile at the moment and we’re backing Lille to take advantage of that, with Leão at the heart of their devastating attack.
