Caen vs PSG Predictions

Pressure on PSG to deliver

PSG travel to Stade Michel dOrnano this Wednesday in the Coupe de France, hoping to avoid a potential banana skin against Ligue 2 side, Caen.

Caen have underperformed in Ligue 2 this season, sitting in midtable and now going eight league games without a win. They were able to beat Guingamp in the last round of the cup and will be fully motivated for the visit of the reigning Ligue 1 champions but will have to be careful to avoid a heavy loss.

PSG are currently third in the French top league but will be disappointed to be behind both Lille and Lyon at this point. This is their first game in the cup this and, whilst they are likely to play a weakened side, will be keen to deal with this fixture without any embarrassing moments again inferior opposition.

Caen have averaged a goal a game this season but that obviously doesn’t factor in playing opposition like PSG who are head and shoulders above the Ligue 2 side. PSG have scored at will this season, averaging more than two goals a game and there should be plenty of cause to believe the goals will flow in this match. We’re backing PSG to win and there to be over 3.5 goals.

This should be a fairly comprehensive victory for PSG with Caen beginning to struggle in the league below them and we’re forecasting a 4-0 win for the visiting side.
