Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.

After his peerless four-shot Masters triumph, Scottie Scheffler is in the field for this week’s main PGA Tour event, the RBC Heritage at Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina.

There is also an alternate-field PGA Tour event taking place this week, the Corales Puntacana Championship at the Corales Course in the Dominican Republic.

Racing & Football Outlook golf tipster Joe Champion has taken a look at both events to put together an each-way double which pays out at 272/1

RBC Heritage winner prediction – Tommy Fleetwood at 20/1

The PGA Tour’s best will all be making the trip to Hilton Head Island, South Carolina, for the Heritage, one of eight Signature Events, and that includes Scottie Scheffler, who is bidding to add a tartan jacket to his growing collection of greens.

However, if ever there was a week to oppose the world’s best golfer, this could be the one.

Augusta and Harbour Town are very different courses – the first is long, wide and undulating, the second short, claustrophobic and mostly flat – but a demand for accurate approaches and an ability to scramble mean they have more in common than many think.

Matt Fitzpatrick won the Heritage last season and he’s in with a chance again but the tartan jacket could go the way of another Englishman with Tommy Fleetwood finally looking ready to break his PGA Tour duck.

Fleetwood left it late at the Masters, charging up the leaderboard for a share of third place having finished seventh at the Texas Open the previous week.

The Southport man has the tee-to-green prowess to tame Harbour Town and his experience of links conditions make him a good fit for a course where he has finished tenth and 15th in the last two seasons.

Corales Puntacana Championship winner prediction – Alex Noren at 12/1

The big names might all be in action in South Carolina but a strong ‘opposite field’ gathers in the Dominican Republic for the Corales Puntacana Championship, headlined by European pair Alex Noren and Nicolai Hojgaard.

Hojgaard hit the front in round three of the Masters before finding out just how difficult it is to sustain a Green Jacket challenge, eventually finishing 16th. He was runner-up in this event last season but the Dane could be jaded after such an intense Augusta debut.

Of the two Scandinavians, Noren is preferred on his course debut.

The Swede has been ultra-consistent this year, finishing ninth, 19th, 11th and 14th in his last four starts, and he went closer than ever to PGA Tour glory when a runner-up in coastal conditions in Bermuda in November.

The Corales course is long, but it has tended to favour accurate operators who excel in a breeze and Noren fits firmly in that category.
