It’s Easter weekend in the Scottish Premiership and we have five games to look forward to on Saturday, with the main event undoubtedly being the Old Firm Derby as Celtic look to take a step closer to what looks to be an inevitable title triumph.

Our Scottish football expert has his gaze cast elsewhere, though with Henry Hardwicke picking out a pair of high-value bets in this 6/1 double priced up with bet365, where new customers can get up to £30 in free bets to use on the football this weekend.

6/1 Scottish Saturdays double

Aberdeen vs Kilmarnock

Best bet – Kilmarnock draw no bet at 12/5

Aberdeen moved within a point of third-placed Hearts in the Scottish Premiership table after a 1-0 victory at St Johnstone made it four wins on the bounce for Barry Robson’s side.

The Dons have lost only four of their 15 SPL home matches this season, while this weekend’s opponents Kilmarnock have lost 13 of their 15 away league games. However, Saturday’s contest may not play out quite how those records suggest.

Robson has done a good job since taking over from Jim Goodwin, on an interim basis, but Graeme Shinnie’s arrival on loan from Wigan may have had a bigger impact on Aberdeen’s fortunes.

Shinnie, who took the captain’s armband after the departure of Anthony Stewart to MK Dons, has provided some much needed bite, quality and physicality in the Dons’ midfield, but the 31-year-old is unavailable for the Kilmarnock clash after being sent off at McDiarmid Park last weekend. Saints defender Andrew Considine was also shown red in that contest, in the sixth-minute, but Aberdeen were far from convincing even with an early numerical advantage.

Kilmarnock should be full of confidence, after an impressive 2-1 victory over Hearts last time out and former Aberdeen gaffer Derek McInnes is likely to have his side well motivated for his return to Pittodrie.

Motherwell vs Livingston

Best bet – Motherwell to win at 11/10

Motherwell were excellent when beating Hibs 3-1 at Easter Road on Saturday and the Steelmen can stand firm when Livingston come to Fir Park.

Livi are a pretty poor outfit, who have won only three of their last nine matches. That trio of victories came against the SPL’s bottom three sides in Dundee United, Ross County and Kilmarnock and they face a far tougher test against a good Motherwell side.

David Martindale’s men have recorded just three shots on target in their last three Scottish Premiership away matches and they could come up dry against the Well.
