Born in the south east of Ireland, Simon put his life-long love of football to good use when he started a successful independent blog in 2010. Greuther Furth kicked off a thrilling evening of action with a 3-2 triumph over Sandhausen in Germany, where a late winner from Branimir Hrgota kept our four-fold firmly on track.
In Spain, we needed Athletic Bilbao to avoid defeat at home to Valladolid, and strikes from Jon Morcillo and Raul Garcia allowed the hosts to claim a share of the spoils in a 2-2 draw.
Besiktas’ clash with Rizespor certainly had our hearts racing in Turkey. The title challengers established an early lead, before two more goals were chalked off by VAR.
Further second half efforts pushed them 3-0 in the font, though the hosts rallied late on and almost stole a point in an eventual 3-2 Besiktas win.
Finally, we backed goals to be scored in Paris during PSG’s showpiece showdown with Man City, and the Citizens’ stirring second-half comeback ensured our acca landed at a cool 9/1.
