The Weekender Acca: 1432/1 BTTS & Win sixfold for this weekend

Before becoming a Sports Journalist for Free Super Tips, Aaron spent three years studying Sports Journalism at the University of Sunderland while taking in the Black Cats' 'glory years' under Martin O'Neill. Now back in Northern Ireland he turns niche stats into predictions for FST, while he's one of the few people on this island who is equally comfortable at Windsor Park and the Aviva.

While we’ve had some entertaining games during this international break, it’s hard not to cast an eye towards next weekend and the return of club football.

Domestic action swings back into gear on Friday night with some top clubs in action, while there are plenty of great games to look forward to. With that in mind, I’ve cast an eye over the games from Friday to Sunday to pick out two both teams to score & win tips per day for our Weekender Accumulator.

Both Teams to Score & Win Weekender Acca

Friday – PSG vs Nice

PSG had a shaky start under Luis Enrique, drawing their opening two matches despite dominating both. However, they got back into their groove after that, seeing off Lens 3-1 before thumping Lyon 4-1.

Enrique looks to have a balanced squad at his disposal and the dressing room seems a lot more manageable with Kylian Mbappe the main star surrounded by a talented but understated supporting cast.

The only real concern for the French champions is their defence, with both teams scoring in each of their last three. They meet a Nice side who have scored in three of their first four games, so back the visitors to score in a defeat with the PSG attack in full flow.

Tip: PSG to win & BTTS

Friday – Estrela vs Porto

Porto have taken 10 points from their first four games this season and they’ve won 14 of their last 16 Primeira Liga matches. They look good for a title charge and Friday night should see them pick up their fourth win of the season.

However, the Dragons have seen both teams score in each of their four league games this term. Estrela have seen BTTS in their last two games so they should be good for a goal, but Porto are likely to prove too strong.

Tip: Porto to win & BTTS

Saturday – Lens vs Metz

Lens are gearing up for their first taste of Champions League action next week after a brilliant 2022/23 campaign. Things haven’t been quite as smooth this time around, as they’ve lost three of their first four games this term.

However, Lens have played on the road three times already and their last three matches have come against PSG, Monaco and Rennes. Facing newly-promoted Metz is a refreshing change of pace for Lens, although it’s hard to see their defensive issues completely going away.

Metz have scored in each of their four league games this term but they opened up with a 5-1 hammering at Rennes. This offers Lens a great chance to get a win on the board before meeting Sevilla but with the hosts conceding in eight of their last nine league games back both teams to score.

Tip: Lens to win & BTTS

Saturday – Cardiff vs Swansea

This heated Welsh derby has the pressure turned up with the pair in the bottom six. Cardiff were tipped to struggle but it’s Swansea who find themselves in the bottom three, having taken just two points from their first five matches.

Cardiff clearly have issues but their recent results are encouraging. They lost 3-2 at Ipswich before the break after taking a 2-0 lead in that one. They had went into that clash at Portman Road following a 2-1 win over Sheffield Wednesday and a 3-1 victory at Birmingham City.

Swansea have seen both teams score in each of their last five games, but they’ve lost four of those. Given the Swans’ struggles, Cardiff can edge a high-scoring contest.

Tip: Cardiff to win & BTTS

Sunday – Sporting vs Moreirense

Sporting had a disappointing start last term but they’ve retooled over the summer to put together an impressive, attack-minded side. The Lions have won three of their last four games but they’ve managed just one clean sheet during that run.

Moreirense are back in the top-flight after promotion and they’re unlikely to match Sporting, having lost to both Porto and Braga so far. However, the visitors have seen both teams score in three of their first four games, so this should be a high-scoring win for the hosts.

Tip: Sporting to win & BTTS

Sunday – Real Madrid vs Real Sociedad

Real Madrid have made a fantastic start to this La Liga campaign, winning each of their first four matches. Jude Bellingham has had a huge impact, scoring in each of those four games.

Real should continue their perfect start on Sunday night, but they meet a Real Sociedad side who have seen BTTS land in three of their opening four games. While the hosts have made a perfect start, they’ve already conceded in wins over Almeria and Getafe this term, with defensive injury issues hampering them slightly.

The visitors pack a real impressive punch going forward but Real won 13 of 19 home games last term and they can see off Sociedad.

Tip: Real Madrid to win & BTTS
