Ahead of Watford’s Premier League meeting with Arsenal on Sunday, new manager bounce is the hottest topic around Vicarage Road – but just how potent can that notorious effect be when the new manager is actually an old one?

Having been sacked as Watford manager in 2016, Spaniard Quique Sánchez Flores is back in the Hornets hot-seat this week in place of his ousted compatriot Javi Gracia, and the managerial swticharoo at Vicarage Road adds an intriguing layer to what had already promised to be a compelling contest between Watford and Arsenal on Sunday.

As always, there is an abundance of equally interesting betting markets to explore for the fixture, and with bet365’s Bet Builder, you can combine the best of those markets to create a unique, customised bet.

We’ve picked out a range of selections from Sunday’s face off between Watford and Arsenal that we think are worth considering for your Bet Builder slip this week. Check them out below.

Watford vs Arsenal Bet Builder Tips

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang to score anytime

Gabonese international Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has hit the ground running for Arsenal this season, notching in three of the Gunners’ first four Premier League fixtures of the new campaign.

The rapid forward has been one of the division’s most effective attackers since moving to Arsenal 18-months ago, and only Mohamed Salah (52) has been involved in more Premier League goals than Aubameyang (44; 35 goals, 9 assists) since February 2018.

Aubameyang scored the winner in Arsenal’s 1-0 win at Vicarage Road in 2018-19 and we’re tipping the 30-year old to make his mark there again on Sunday.

Over 10 corners for both teams combined

The corner count in both Watford’s and Arsenal’s Premier League matches so far this season has been noticeably heavy, and we expect the teams’ meeting on Sunday to product a similarly high corner kick output.

An average of 11 corners were won by both teams in Watford’s four top flight fixtures since the summer, while Arsenal’s equivalent stat for 2019/20 so far stands slightly higher at 12.

Interestingly, an average of 11.33 corners were awarded to both teams combined in Watford’s Premier League home games against teams from the top six in 2018/19, and this season’s numbers suggest that history is likely to repeat itself on Sunday.

Both teams to score

Watford’s clash with Arsenal on Sunday pits two notoriously porous defences against each other at Vicarage Road.

Unsurprisingly, bottom club Watford are still searching for their first Premier League clean sheet of the season, while the first day blank Arsenal secured at Newcastle is their only shutout of the campaign to date.

The Gunners remain potent in attack however, in fact, both teams registered in 24 of Arsenal’s last 31 Premier League away fixtures.

Similarly, Watford rattled the net at least once in 29 of their last 35 league games at home, though they kept their visitors out just eight times at the other end.

Six of Arsenal’s last eight away wins saw both teams get on the scoresheet, and we’re tipping goals to fly in at either end again in their latest outing on Sunday.

Over 3 cards in the match for both teams combined

When Watford and Arsenal lock horns, sparks tend to fly. A massive 23 yellows and one red card were shown to the players involved in the last six meetings between the clubs.

Ahead of their latest skirmish on Sunday, both teams have already been treading on the wrong side of the disciplinary line in the Premier League.

No other club in the division has collected more bookings than Arsenal (nine) so far this term, while Watford’s yellow card count is only a slightly more modest seven since the summer.

Quique Sánchez Flores’ return to the Hornets is certain to inject some extra enthusiasm and energy into Watford’s players this weekend, and that in turn should crank up the tackle and challenge count for both teams.

When you digest the factors involved, everything looks in place for our targeted card total to be passed with relative comfort on Sunday.

Arsenal to win

Our final Bet Builder selection is a straight Arsenal win in the match result market. The Gunners emerged victorious from each of their most recent three meetings with Waford, and we expect them extend that streak to four on Sunday.

Traditionally, the Hornets tend to struggle when playing at home to Arsenal, and the Gunners won on five of their last six Premier League visits to Vicarage Road.

Watford’s overall form has been poor in general for a sustained period now, and the Hornets have taken maximum points just once in their last 10 Premier League fixtures since the end of last season.

That solitary win came against relegated Huddersfield Town at the end of April last season, and with Watford’s confidence certain to fragile this weekend, despite the change in management, we’re backing Arsenal to turn them over.
