New York Mets vs LA Dodgers Predictions
That’s right, we’re sticking by Clayton Kershaw. He has been out-duelled in every postseason game in his career, including game one of this series against Jacob DeGrom. If there’s any question about his postseason guts, he has a chance to answer them tonight because the stakes could hardly be bigger.
The reality is that he pitched pretty well in that match-up. Still, the Dodgers need the Cy Young award winning ace to show up on Tuesday. It really is make or break for a team that got some hits and runs against Matt Harvey last night in a wild one, but was ultimately let down by Brett Anderson and the bullpen.
The Mets are one win away from a National League title series. Rookie Steven Matz makes his postseason start after going 4-0 with a 2.27 ERA during his first season in New York. Matz played a big part in helping this rotation through the second half.
Look out for Yoenis Cespedes, Danny Murphy and David Wright in the middle order. There were few players who didn’t make contact as part of a 13-run effort on Monday night.
Three Reasons for Betting Tips
1. Sticking with Kershaw
We believe in Kershaw and his ability. We recognise his postseason record isn’t great, but we’re going down with this ship. Feel free to abandon us, but we think you might miss some money making opportunities.
2. Rookie on the mound
Not loving Matz taking the mound in a critical game. DeGrom will get the game five start if necessary and that’s fair enough, but hard to feel that they might have missed a trick by exposing their rookie.
3. Love the odds
Can you remember a time that you could have gotten Kershaw at 5/8 when matched up against a rookie? It’s a winning opportunity.
