Partick can overpower Edinburgh City

Edinburgh City have made a woeful start to the season in the Scottish League Cup and they could be in line for more misery when Partick Thistle visit on Saturday.

The Citizens lost 3-0 at Premiership side Motherwell in their cup opener and then were thrashed 5-0 at home by League Two rivals Clyde.

Partick have played once so far and they overcame Montrose 3-2 at home. The Jags conceded first in that game but were level before the break and they are a team who tend to start strongly, having managed to score inside the first half in five of their last six games.

Edinburgh City were behind at half-time against both the Well and Clyde, so backing Thistle to be winning at half-time and then go on to win the game looks a good option here.

As Edinburgh have shipped eight goals in just two games so far the visitors may be able to record a big victory here. The Championship side scored three against League One outfit Montrose in the last round and can go one better against Edinburgh, and as the hosts are yet to score after two games Thistle may also be able to keep a clean sheet so a 4-0 away win looks a reasonable correct score prediction.
