20th Oct - Blue Jays vs Royals

The Toronto Blue Jays pulled one game back in Game 3 and now trail the Kansas City Royals 2-1 in the American League Championship series.

Game 3 in many ways captured what many thought this series would be. Not particularly strong pitching, huge amounts of hitting and plenty of atmosphere.

On the mound tonight, veteran knuckleballer R.A. Dickey goes head-to-head with Chris Young, who is making his MLB debut.

We’re not anticipating as many runs on Tuesday night, though neither are we expecting either pitcher to go deep into this game.

Three Reasons for Betting Tips

1. R.A. Dickey vs Royals’ hitting

It’s a tough hitting line-up to battle past and our intuition is that Dickey and his knuckleballers won’t pitch deep into the game. He’s a veteran pitcher, so don’t necessarily expect huge numbers of runs, but we’d be surprised if his pitch count doesn’t become uncontrollable.

2. Kansas City experience

The Royals have experience on their side and even through Johnny Cueto’s disappointing outing, we think they’ll dig out a big time performance on the road in this game.

3. Playing the odds

We like a Kansas City upset in this match-up, but we’re getting the +1.5 Run Line at near even odds, that’s enough for us to take that one run security. This is a tough series.
