Straightforward final league contest on the cards for Milan

AC Milan have little more than pride to play for in their final Serie A contest of the season but they should still have far too much for basement boys Monza.

Earlier this month Milan missed out on the opportunity for silverware when they were beaten 1-0 by Bologna in the final of the Coppa Italia and they have underwhelmed in the league, sitting ninth with one game to go.

It may not secure European football but they could yet finish seventh in the standings and can do their bit with a routine win on Saturday.

Monza to bow out of Serie A with a whimper

With 25 defeats in 37 matches and only 18 points accumulated, Monza have long been preparing for life in Serie B and they could go down with a whimper.

Monza have won only three league games all season with just one of them coming in their last 17 contests.

Having lost last term’s top scorer Andrea Colpani on loan to Fiorentina this season, Monza have underwhelmed up top, drawing blanks in 16 league games.
