AC Milan vs Napoli Predictions
- AC Milan have won four games in a row across all competitions
- Napoli were sloppy in a 3-2 home win over newly-promoted Pisa on Monday
- Napoli have conceded exactly two goals in each of their last two matches
Coaching duel to savour at San Siro
It’s 12 years since Massimiliano Allegri and Antonio Conte last locked coaching horns and the Italian media are certainly looking forward to analysing it all after Sunday’s big game at the San Siro between AC Milan and Napoli.
The two most decorated coaches in Serie A, by some distance, are in charge of two of the most in-form teams right now with Napoli again leading the way at the top of the table and Milan close on their heels in third.
Milan probably look like they are in better form after winning four consecutive games, all with clean sheets. It certainly feels like Allegri-ball has landed again at the San Siro and they will have a chance of upsetting the champions on Sunday.
Cracks beginning to appear in Conte’s champions
Conte’s Napoli have won every league game so far but a few cracks have begun to appear in their armoury. They were very sloppy in defence against Manchester City last week and Pisa on Monday night while have since been dealt a blow with the news that centre-back Alessandro Buongiorno will miss the Milan match through injury.
A win for the Rossoneri would move them above Napoli in the table, so there will be no lack of motivation on their part or passion in the stands. Rafael Leao could be back from injury to play a role as an impact substitute but this match is likely to come down to a midfield battle between Luka Modric and Kevin de Bruyne.
Modric fits perfectly into Allegri’s system as a regista and has been gracefully dictating games while De Bruyne has struggled to make an impact against compact opponents. Milan are a worthy pick in the Draw no Bet Market here because, after all, Conte has not lost in his last seven meetings with Allegri.
