Ghana vs Panama Predictions

• Ghana have failed to win any of their last six matches
• Panama are unbeaten in their last 12 competitive games
• There have been 21 goals in Panama’s last five games

Ghana’s golden generation has passed, and while the current squad does have talent, there is no vintage Black Stars unit. 

Thomas Partey and Antoine Semenyo bring a scattering of quality to Ghana’s 2026 squad, but it looks short of the glory days of Asamoah Gyan, Sulley Muntari, Stephen Appiah and Kwadwo Asamoah, who kept the nation moving forward for many years.

Carlos Queiroz’s men have been in pretty poor form too, losing five of their last six matches. 

Those substandard results have all been uncompetitive matches on the road, but it can hardly be a boost to the confidence of a side which hasn’t won a game since October. 

Panama have been in good form, going undefeated in their last 12 competitive games, but those have mainly been matches against low-level opponents. 

With no USA, Canada or Mexico in qualifying for the 2026 World Cup it’s not possible to get a read on Panama’s performances against the top nations in their region. 

However, the Canal Men did play pretty well in a 1-1 friendly draw with Bosnia and Herzegovina on Saturday and that followed a 4-2 success over the Dominican Republic. 

Out-of-form Ghana too short in Toronto 

Panama look capable of making life difficult for Ghana and it may not just be a case of sitting deep and defending. 

Thomas Christiansen’s men scored twice in a 6-2 loss to a top-level Brazil outfit in May and the Toronto Stadium contest could deliver an entertaining draw.
