Under 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

These two sides are defensively strong, with Milan having conceded just twice on home soil in the league this season, while Napoli have kept six clean-sheets across their last seven games.  With six of the last nine meetings between this pair going under the 2.5 goal mark, this has all the makings of being a tight, low-scoring contest.

Draw 1-1

Reason for tip

With both sides looking defensively strong, there should not be too many goals in this one, but Milan are unbeaten at home in the league and Napoli have scored in seven of their last eight games across all competitions, so 1-1 is perhaps the most likely outcome.

AC Milan vs Napoli Predictions

  • AC Milan have conceded just two goals across their four home matches in Serie A this season
  • Napoli have kept six clean-sheets across their last seven games
  • Six of the last nine meetings between these two sides have gone under 2.5 goals

Title rivals set for tense San Siro battle

Two title rivals will meet in Serie A on Tuesday, but while AC Milan’s clash with Bologna at the weekend was called off, league leaders Napoli pulled eight points clear of the Rossoneri with a hard-fought 1-0 win over Lecce.

That was the Partenopei’s second- successive 1-0 success and they have only conceded five goals in their nine league games to date under Antonio Conte and have kept six clean-sheets across their last seven in all competitions.

Milan have also been defensively strong, at least on home soil, as they have conceded just twice in four league games in Serie A this term.

Recent history favours low-scoring clash

With both defences in good nick, under 2.5 goals could be the way to play Tuesday’s contest, something that is further backed up when you look at recent meetings between the two sides.

Six of the last nine head-to-heads have featured a maximum of two goals, with the last two clashes at the San Siro ending 1-0 in favour of Milan.

Milan would certainly take a 1-0 this time around, but Napoli have scored in seven of their last eight games and are capable of getting on the scoresheet in what could finish as a tense 1-1 draw.
