RB Leipzig Draw No Bet

Reason for tip

Bayer Leverkusen are in the hunt for Champions League football but their hopes of dining at Europe’s top table could take a major hit on Saturday. A record of one draw and three losses from four games against teams starting the day above them spells trouble for a visit from third-placed Leipzig, who have won five in a row.

RB Leipzig 2-1

Reason for tip

Led by Ivorian sensation Yan Diomande, Leipzig’s attack is proving tough to stop and they have enough to score at least twice for the ninth time in 11 Bundesliga games. Shutting out a Leverkusen side who have scored in all of their Bundesliga home matches may prove tougher, though, so back the hosts to grab a consolation.

Bayer Leverkusen vs RB Leipzig Predictions

  • Leipzig have won five games in a row
  • Leverkusen have won just one of their last seven home matches
  • Bayer have lost three and won none of their four home games against sides starting the day above them this term

Leipzig likely to continue fine form

The race to secure Champions League football is hotting up in Germany and with three games left to play, time is running out for Bayer Leverkusen to break into the Bundesliga’s top four.

Their 2-1 win over Cologne and Stuttgart’s 1-1 draw with Werder Bremen moved them to within two points of their goal but fifth-placed Hoffenheim are also on two points, so they need all the victories they can get if they are to break into the Champions League places.

RB Leipzig, in contrast, look sure to be dining at Europe’s top table next term. Five straight wins has moved Ole Werner’s side five points clear of Stuttgart and Hoffenheim and within five points of second-placed Dortmund, meaning one more victory should secure their spot in the top four.

That will have them motivated ahead of a trip to Leverkusen and what better time to secure that win than against one of the chasing pack.

Bayer bound for another damaging defeat

Leipzig’s five-game win streak includes a stunning 5-0 rout of top-four rivals Hoffenheim and a 3-1 win at seventh-placed Frankfurt, suggesting they will fear nothing at the BayArena.

Bayer obviously have plenty to play for, too, but they are nowhere near as consistent as their red-hot visitors.

Kasper Hjulmand’s men have won just three of their last nine games and while that run does include a 1-0 win at Dortmund, a 2-1 loss to Augsburg in their last home match proves the inconsistency in their performances.

In fact, Bayer have won only one of their last seven home matches and it seems unlikely that they will improve on that record against Leipzig, who have lost only four of their 15 Bundesliga away games this season, winning four of the last five.
