AC Milan vs Sampdoria Betting Tips

The trip to Juventus proved to be one hurdle too far for an in-form AC Milan. They’ve dropped behind Juventus in the standings. It doesn’t feel right to say that Milan are doing well to be in seventh place, because of their history and pedigree, but there is a feeling that this team with some upside.

AC Milan’s potential will depend upon playing more consistently in the final third and scoring a few more goals. They’ve been held scoreless in their last two games and generally they’ve been too erratic scoring just 15 times in 13 games.

Sampdoria haven’t won since October 25 and the predicted drop off after a strong performance in 2014-15 may now be happening. Their win-less run includes defeats to Fiorentina and Udinese, and draws with Chievo and Empoli.

They’re only three points ahead of 17th place Bologna and there will be a few concerns for this side about getting too close to the relegation zone.

Three Reasons for Betting Tips

1. Sampdoria

They’re a side that has the quality to score goals and they’re weak enough defensively for AC Milan to score against. This could be a more open game than perhaps the stats indicate.

2. Milan better than last two games

Prior to their last two games, a draw with Atalanta and defeat to Juventus, AC Milan had put together a relatively nice run. We think they’ll find some of that form again on Saturday.

3. Desperation

It’s early in the season, but Sampdoria’s poor run of form should create some desperation among this squad and we’re expecting an urgent, pressing performance.
