Adamawa United vs Enyimba Predictions

Defending champions Enyimba have been surging up the Nigerian Premier League standings in recent weeks in their attempts to make up ground in the title race, and the People’s Elephant will expect to keep the good results coming at bottom club Adamawa United this week.

Enyimba in 9th are still a full 13 points off the pace, however with five games in hand, there is still time to put themselves in the frame for successive league titles.

In contrast, relegation looks likely for Adamawa, who are now eight points from safety. Having shown signs of life between late January and late February, United’s form plummeted again more recently, and Justin Madugu’s charges are staring down the barrel of their 4th defeat on the spin this week.

Enyimba to win

  • Enyimba won six of their last seven league games.
  • The champions turned Adamawa over 2-0 earlier in the season.
  • Adamawa were beaten in each of their last three games.

After their recent CAF Confederation quarter final disappointment, Enyimba’s determination to successfully defend their domestic title would have redoubled this week.

Following their two-leg defeat to Guinean side Horoya, Enyimba bounced back with a solid 3-0 win over Sunshine Stars on Sunday. With six wins from seven in the Premier League, the title holders are firmly in the groove, and they should have too much quality for the division’s bottom side this week.

Enyimba to win 2-1

  • Adamawa United scored in 75% of their last four home games.
  • Enyimba conceded in 11 of their last 12 Premier League away fixtures.

Enyimba’s away performance this term have been frustratingly lacklustre, though two wins from their last three as the visiting team suggests a prolonged upturn in results is imminent.

They are unlikely to be given an easy ride by an Adamawa outfit that won three of their last four on home turf however, and Enyimba shouldn’t be expected to keep their hosts off the scoresheet.

The champions’ superior quality should eventually tell however, and we’re tipping them to carve out a 2-1 victory.
