Red Bull Salzburg finished the Austrian Bundesliga as champions for the third consecutive time on Sunday, rounding off their nine point triumph with a 1-0 win over Wolfsberger.

This victory made it 15 games without defeat for Salzburg, with 11 of those games being victories as the Salzburg side continue to exert their dominance over Austrian football. They have now won seven of the last ten Austrian Bundesliga titles.

Not only this but they have also managed back to back Austrian Cup triumphs, and on Thursday they will be looking for their 3rd consecutive Austrian double against Admira.

Admira finished the season in a respectable but unremarkable 4th position in the table on Sunday, losing out on 3rd position by nine points and holding off Sturm Graz below them despite their defeat on the final day of the season.

Their 3-1 loss at home to Rapid Vienna made it three defeats and three wins in their last six outings in all competitions, and in all honesty they were quite fortunate to hang on to their 4th position.

Admira won’t be feeling particularly confident about this one. They have lost nine of their last ten games against Salzburg and are coming up against a side who haven’t lost since February.

However, Salzburg have conceded in five of their last seven games in all competitions, so Admira may have a chance if they can bag an early goal. Admira have scored in nine of their last 11 outings too. In all honesty I don’t think they’ll be able to hold off a Salzburg side who have scored in 12 consecutive matches though, so odds of 8/11 for Both Teams to Score are looking good to me. I’m going for a comfortable Salzburg victory with a 3-1 correct score prediction at 9/1 as well.
