AFC Bournemouth vs Arsenal Predictions
- Arsenal have a perfect away record this season with three wins in as many games.
- The Gunners are yet to concede on their travels.
- Bournemouth are yet to win, with three draws and three losses in the Premier League.
Cherries still seeking first victory
Bournemouth are one of four teams who are still seeking a first Premier League win of the season and they’re unlikely to end that run when they entertain unbeaten Arsenal on Saturday.
The Gunners are one of four sides yet to taste defeat in the league and they are unbeaten across all competitions, although they do have a few injury concerns for their trip to the south coast.
Top scorer Bukayo Saka and marquee summer buy Declan Rice are rated as doubts, while Thomas Partey and Gabriel Martinelli are expected to miss out. Bournemouth have no fresh injury or suspension worries.
Another clean sheet for Arsenal
Arsenal won a five-goal thriller the last time these two sides met in March last season as they fought back from 2-0 down to claim a 3-2 win at the Emirates, as they were fighting with Manchester City for the league crown.
The Cherries were perhaps fortunate to take a two-goal lead in that clash and I’m not expecting as much entertainment in this meeting.
An Arsenal win to nil stands out as the main bet as Mikel Arteta’s men have won all three of their away games across all competitions and are yet to concede on their travels. Going back into last season, Arsenal’s last five road wins in the league have been accompanied by clean sheets and Bournemouth have only scored five goals across six league games so far – and they’ve drawn blanks in their last two home games.
One goal could be enough
Arsenal have won all three of their away games 1-0 after edging past Brentford in the EFL Cup in midweek and yet another 1-0 success is the correct score prediction for this clash.
Bournemouth have failed to score in their last two home games but have only lost once in three league games at the Vitality Stadium and have only shipped three goals across those fixtures, so they may be able to keep this more competitive than the odds suggest but ultimately Arsenal should have enough about them to come away with maximum points.
With Saka potentially absent, Martin Odegaard stands out as a potential scorer as he has four goals in his last nine games for club and country and the Norwegian will probably take over penalty duties as well.
