England to Win and Under 2.5 Match Goals

Reason for tip

England have gone nine competitive games without conceding, and they could become just the second European country to win ten straight competitive matches while keeping a clean sheet every time. The Three Lions have scored 20 goals and conceded none across their seven qualifying fixtures. A low-scoring win in Tirana looks likely as Thomas Tuchel takes the opportunity to rotate his side.

England 2-0

Reason for tip

England have won their five meetings with Albania by an aggregate score of 14-1 and they should be able to extend that sequence with a modest victory on Sunday. Albania have enjoyed their most successful qualification campaign, but they are averaging just one goal per game scored in the group and they may struggle to break through such strong opposition.

Albania vs England Predictions

  • England have won all five meetings with Albania by an aggregate score of 14-1.
  • The Three Lions have kept a clean sheet in 10 of their last 11 matches in all competitions.
  • Albania have lost just one of their seven matches in this qualifying campaign.

A roaring success unlikely for Three Lions

England have qualified for next summer’s World Cup at a canter and they should finish off their qualifying campaign with eight wins from eight, but we predict a low-scoring victory for the Three Lions in Tirana on Sunday.

They finish their schedule against an Albania side who have secured second spot in the section and with it a playoff spot in March, as they look to reach a major tournament finals for the first time.

It has been a campaign to remember for the Red and Blacks who have relied on defensive solidity to get the job done and it is hard to see them breaking down an England side who have kept a clean sheet in ten of their last 11 matches.

One glimmer of hope for Albania is that England boss Thomas Tuchel may choose to ring the changes as he turns his mind to choosing his squad for next summer’s extravaganza, but that may only damage the Three Lions’ hopes of a more comprehensive victory this weekend, as opposed to handing the initiative to the home side.

It was 2-0 to England when these two last met in March and that looks a solid selection for correct-score punters.
