Angola to Win

Reason for tip

Angola are unbeaten in their last eight games and should be able to get the better of a Namibia side that have failed to score in six of their last eight outings.

Angola vs Namibia Predictions

  • Angola are unbeaten in their last eight games
  • Seven of Angola’s last eight matches have gone under 2.5 goals
  • Namibia have only scored in two of their last eight outings

Angola should be too strong

Angola impressed in the Africa Cup of Nations group stages, drawing with Algeria before victories over Burkina Faso and Mauritania. Pedro Goncalves’ men netted six times across the group stages and look to have a rock solid chance of reaching the quarter-finals of this competition for the first time since 2010.

They are unbeaten in their last eight games and have been rock solid defensively in that run, keeping five clean sheets. That ability to keep their opponents out should stand them in good stead in the knockout stages of this competition and they could have landed a worse draw than Namibia.

The Brave Warriors won their first ever AFCON game in the group stages with a late 1-0 win over Tunisia but followed that with a 4-0 humbling at the hands of South Africa and a goalless draw with Mali that saw both teams progress.

Reaching the knockout stages for the first time is a big achievement for the Southern African nation but their run may come to an end here.

Low-scoring affair likely

Given Angola’s defensive record and Namibia’s struggles going forward, they have only scored in two of their last eight games, a cagey affair looks likely in this one.

Angola’s cutting edge in attacking areas is likely to be the difference between these two teams.

Seven of their last eight games have gone under 2.5 goals so take a 2-0 win for the Black Sable Antelopes.
