Aston Villa vs Manchester United Predictions

  • Aston Villa have won seven of their nine competitive games this season.
  • Manchester United have conceded six goals across their last two matches.
  • Ollie Watkins has scored four goals in his last three Premier League outings.

Villans can continue fine form

Aston Villa enjoyed a famous win over European heavyweights Bayern Munich in midweek, and they can continue their fine start to the season by piling the pressure on a struggling Manchester United side.

The Villans have won seven of their nine competitive games this season, with their only defeat coming against title hopefuls Arsenal, and they look justified favourites to end a four-meeting losing streak against the Red Devils.

ten Hag on brink of sacking

Erik ten Hag, who now looks on an inevitable fast track to the job centre, saw his side throw away a two-goal lead in Porto on Thursday evening, collapsing following their blistering start to trail the game 3-2 before a last-gasp Harry Maguire header earned them a point.

Bruno Fernandes was sent off for the second game running in Portugal and, despite their last-minute equaliser, that draw is likely to feel much more like two points dropped than a point gained.

Watkins to strike at Villa Park

The visitors are now winless in four competitive matches and are still trying to recover from an utterly dismal performance against Tottenham last weekend.

By contrast, Aston Villa are riding a wave of well-earned confidence and looks a fantastic bet to take all three points, with a fourth 2-1 win of the season also appealing in the correct score market.

Ollie Watkins could prove the difference-maker, too. The England international had a relatively slow start to the season, but he has since scored four goals in his last three league assignments and could terrorise this shaky Manchester United defence.
