Aston Villa vs Norwich Betting Tips

Aston Villa’s brief resurgence looks to be over. They had managed to put together a five match unbeaten streak in all competitions and during this period picked up their first Premier League win since the opening day of the season.

But a 4-0 thrashing by Manchester City in the FA Cup put a swift end to that return to form, and they followed this up with a 2-0 defeat at West Ham on Tuesday.

Aston Villa remain bottom of the Premier League. They have a 13 point tally from their opening 24 league matches and currently sit ten points adrift of safety.

Norwich are the team that sit ten points clear of them, occupying the precarious but ultimately safe position of 17^th in the Premier League. They have a two point cushion over Newcastle in 18^th place, but a win could send them five points clear of the drop zone.

The recently promoted side are struggling for results though. They have lost five matches in a row in all competitions and have only managed to score in two of those games. Admittedly, they did manage to score four goals in one of those matches as they played a big part in one of the games of the season against Liverpool.

Away from home things are even worse for Norwich. They haven’t won any of their last 12 matches in all competitions on the road, and eight of those games have ended in defeat for the struggling side. They have only managed three goals in their last six matches away from home as well.

Aston Villa themselves have only managed three goals in their last six Premier League outings, so both teams are having some real issues in front of goal.

This makes an Under 2.5 Match Goals backing look appealing, and odds of 8/13 are good for this outcome considering both sides’ terrible scoring form. I’m going for a Norwich win as well, and odds of 8/1 for a 1-0 correct score prediction look good to me.
