Atletico Madrid vs Barcelona Predictions
- Barcelona have won 24 of their 29 league games.
- Seven of Atletico Madrid’s last ten have gone over 3.5 goals.
- Four of the last six head-to-heads have produced four or more goals.
High-scoring affair fancied
Barcelona’s La Liga title charge has been built on a foundation of rock-solid home form, winning all 15 of their games in their own back yard this term.
However they have found things tougher on their travels, losing four times, and they face one of their biggest challenges of the campaign as they visit the Metropolitano to take on Atletico Madrid on Saturday.
Hansi Flick’s men are four points clear at the top of the table and some 16 ahead of Atleti but the hosts are another team who have been extremely impressive at home.
Diego Simeone’s men have won 13 of their 15 games at the Metropolitano this term, losing just once to Real Betis in February.
They were beaten 3-2 by rivals Real Madrid last time out and this could be another high-scoring clash.
Four of the last six head-to-heads between these two have gone over 3.5 goals and expect the visitors to take the game to Atleti, who got one over on Barca with a 4-3 aggregate win in the Copa del Rey earlier recently.
The pair will be more than familiar with each other by the end of the season as they have drawn each other in the Champions League quarter-final too so this will be their fourth of six meetings this term.
They have scored three or more goals in seven of their last 14 matches and their last five games have produced 23 goals, this is another fancied to go over 3.5 goals.
Barca could come out on top
Barcelona have won 24 of their 29 league games and should be too strong, take them to win 3-1.
Lamine Yamal has been central to Barcelona’s success this season and it’s worth backing the young phenom to get on the scoresheet once again in this clash.
The 18-year-old has scored 21 goals and registered 15 assists in all competitions for Flick’s side this term and he could add to that tally against what has been a leaky Atleti back line.
The hosts have conceded at least twice in five of their last six games and Yamal scored on his last league visit to the Metropolitano.
The winger is also Barcelona’s penalty taker and his side have won 14 of those this season so a goal from the spot is not beyond the realms of possibility.
