      Both Teams To Score

      Reason for tip

Lille beat Real Madrid 1-0 in the last round of Champions League fixtures and Los Blancos’ cross-city rivals have conceded in their last six games in this competition. Both teams to score has landed in their last three home games and they may struggle to contain an impressive visiting side.

      Draw 1-1

      Reason for tip

Atletico Madrid are unbeaten at home this term so three points may be beyond Lille, but the visitors can get something from the game after going five games unbeaten.

      Atletico Madrid vs Lille Predictions

      • Atletico Madrid have gone six Champions League games without a clean sheet
      • Lille are on a five-match unbeaten run which includes a 1-0 victory over Real Madrid
      • Atleti have shipped seven goals in their last four games, losing their last Champions League match 4-0 at Benfica

Goals may flow at the Metropolitano

Following their shock 1-0 over Real during the last round of Champions League fixtures, Lille will have another Madrid outfit in their sights when taking on Atletico on Wednesday.
Three points will be a tough ask for the Mastiffs given Atleti are unbeaten at the Metropolitano this term, winning four times in that run, but that is not to say the visitors can’t find some joy in the Spanish capital.

Diego Simeone’s reputation as an excellent defensive coach has waned somewhat in recent years and the fact Atleti have gone six Champions League games without a clean sheet – they have shipped 12 goals in that run – will give Lille some hope ahead of a daunting trip.

Lille likely to net in Madrid

Worryingly, Atletico Madrid were thrashed 4-0 by Benfica in their last Champions League game and, with key centre-backs Robin Le Normand and Clement Lenglet ruled out through injury, they look vulnerable at the back once more.

Lille are no mugs, putting together a five-match unbeaten run in recent weeks, and with Jonathan David leading the line they will always pose a threat.

Both teams to score has been a winning bet in Atletico’s last three home matches and looks likely to land again.
