Hosts on a downward curve

The new season has been a bit up and down for hosts Auxerre. After posting their best four match start to a Ligue 1 campaign since 2005/06 they have since gone on a three match losing streak. You could argue they’ve been responsible for that as they always seem to start quite slow, as evident by the fact that all four of their Ligue 1 losses have seen them concede the opening goal inside the first 30 minutes. A return to home soil will be welcomed and they’ll feel that they can hurt this Lorient outfit.

The visitors have hit a purple patch. They have won all of their last three league outings and have been defeated just once across their opening seven matches. There’s a feel good factor about Lorient right now and with their only loss coming away at Lens, Régis Le Bris will feel his side can leave here with all three points. However, they have conceded goals recently and five of their previous six outings have witnessed both teams hit the back of the net.
