Bayer Leverkusen vs Augsburg Betting Tips

Bayer Leverkusen managed to get themselves in the Champions League with their 3^rd place finish in the Bundesliga last season, and they have started this season well as well.

They knocked out Lazio in the Champions League playoffs and managed to win their opening group match against BATE. They had the unenviable task of visiting the Nou Camp in midweek though, but they certainly didn’t didn’t disgrace themselves in the 2-1 defeat they incurred.

They took the lead in Barcelona, but unfortunately for them a flurry of attacks in the last ten minutes broke through their defence, with Sergi Roberto and Luis Suarez scoring within two minutes of each other to win the game.

They have won their last two Bundesliga games though, beating Mainz 1-0 and Werder Bremen 3-0 after losing to Borussia Dortmund, Darmstadt, and Bayern Munich.

This leaves them in 6^th position in the Bundesliga, but a win on Sunday could take them up to 4^th place.

Augsburg haven’t started the season well at all. They have lost five of their seven opening games in the Bundesliga and lost both of their opening two Europa League group games.

They did manage a draw at Eintracht Frankfurt in their second league game of the season and picked up their only win against bottom of the table Hannover.

Their main issue is at the back. They have conceded 13 goals in their last five games in all competitions, with ten of those coming in their last three outings.

This leaves them at the wrong end of the table, in 16^th position with just four points from their opening seven games.

Bayer Leverkusen have won four of their five home games against Augsburg since 2008, with the only loss against them being in a friendly game back in 2012.

I’m fully expecting another win for the home side here, and considering four of the last five games from both sides have ended with over 2.5 goals odds of 1/1 for a Bayer Leverkusen Win and Over 2.5 Goals look really good to me.
