Bayer Leverkusen vs Slavia Prague Predictions
- Four of Leverkusen’s five Group C games have produced over 3.5 goals, with the same applying to three of Slavia Prague’s five starts.
- The hosts have netted ten goals in their two home fixtures and 17 overall, while the visitors have averaged just over two goals per game.
- Both sides have already qualified for the Last 32 and are likely to approach this tie openly as they seek to secure top spot in Group C.
Goals to Flow in Group C Shoot-Out
With both Bayer Leverkusen and Slavia Prague already through to the Last 32, we should be set for a thrilling contest at BayArena this Thursday as the sides fight it out to bag top spot in Group C.
The group winners will automatically avoid one of the Champions League drop-outs in the next phase which is a decent incentive for the teams here, but both are likely to approach the tie in gung-ho fashion if their performances so far in the competition are anything to go by.
Ironically, the only low scoring game involving these two teams in Group C was against each other, as Slavia Prague ran out 1-0 winners in the Czech Republic six weeks ago. But we don’t envisage a similar score-line this week, with both sides carrying a substantial goal threat.
Leverkusen have smashed in a whopping 17 goals across their five matches including ten in two here BayArena, while Slavia have averaged just over two goals per fixture themselves with 11 netted in five.
Unsurprisingly, four of Bayer’s five group outings have produced over 3.5 goals, with the same applying to three of Slavia’s five starts. On top of this, the teams have kept just two clean sheets between them thus far, so it’s easy to see why we’re expecting the goals to flow in Germany and over 3.5 stands out at around the 6/4 mark.
In terms of the likely score-line, the Czech’s have been a revelation in this year’s competition, but it’s perhaps not the biggest surprise after they picked up some fair result against the likes of Borussia Dortmund and Internazionale in last season’s Champions League. They should be well involved in this group decider and we’ll tip up a 2-2 correct score which would see Jindrich Trpisovsky’s men clinch top spot.
