Bayer Leverkusen to Win and Over 2.5 Match Goals
Reasoning
Bayer Leverkusen vs Stuttgart Predictions
- Bayer are still yet to lose a match in any competition this season, with their unbeaten run currently standing at 29 games
- Both teams have scored in three of Stuttgart’s last five matches and the score in the last meeting between these sides was 1-1
- There have been over 3.5 goals in all three of Leverkusen’s DFB Pokal matches this term, with the same bet landing in nine of their 14 home games this season
Buoyant Bayer bound for semi-finals
The pick of the DFB Pokal quarter-finals is scheduled for Tuesday, with Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen hosting Stuttgart for what promises to be a scintillating clash.
Bayer are amazingly still yet to lose in any competition this term, with their unbeaten run now standing at 29 games, and they should be feeling confident of progressing from this tie against a side who have struggled on their travels lately, losing three of their last four away matches.
Stuttgart managed a road win on Saturday, but that was in large part due to Freiburg’s Merlin Rohl receiving an 18th-minute red card and they may struggle at the BayArena where Leverkusen have won 12 of their 14 home games this term.
Glut of goals likely in Leverkusen
The tie promises to be an exciting one too, with Xabi Alonso’s attacking style gaining many plaudits – as well as the interest of Liverpool – this season.
Bayer have scored 42 goals in their 14 home matches this term, an average of three a game, and over 2.5 goals has been a winning bet in 12 of those fixtures.
That would suggest net-bulging action should be expected and, given that both teams have scored in three of Stuttgart’s last five matches, the visitors could help bring up that total too.
Both sides scored in the last meeting between the pair and the visitors may have their talisman Serhou Guirassy back for this tie, so plenty of goals should be expected as Leverkusen progress into the semi-finals as they continue in their hunt for a first DFB Pokal trophy since 1993.
