Beerschot’s goal concerns

It is now over seven and a half hours since Beerschot last managed to find the back of the net in a 2-0 win over Genk. Since then, they have suffered four successive league defeats and exited the cup courtesy of an extra-time loss to Standard Liege.

Javier Torrente’s side sit bottom of the table and they have netted just five times in ten home games, the worst return in the division, as it their tally of just 15 strikes in 19 outings at all venues.

They have failed to score in 11 matches already and face a tough task against a mean Anderlecht defence who will not be gifting them chances.

Anderlecht on a roll

The visitors on the other hand are moving up the table after a strong run of four wins in five games, with their most recent match a 2-2 draw away to Club Brugge.

They have one of the best away defensive records in the division, conceding just twelve times in 10 fixtures, while none of their three defeats have come against sides in the bottom half of the table.

Vincent Kompany’s side should have more than enough to put away the team propping up the table, and I believe they are capable of doing so without conceding given their recent defensive record.
