There is not much love lost between these sides so certainly a feisty game is to be expected. The two sides are level on 10 points from 4 games in the early Turkish Super Lig standings but it is Besiktas who have had the better of the recent meetings and they finished a massive 28 points above their city rivals in the league last year as they clinched their first title in 7 years.

Galatasaray had something of a nightmare campaign finishing down in 6th place but have a made a decent start this term. They have no European commitments so they can really focus on the league and moved up to 3rd with a 2-0 win over Rizespor last weekend. Their away form was the big problem last season though and they’ll be desperately hoping to rectify that this term. Besiktas isn’t exactly an easy place to go when you’re trying to change your fortunes around. They will be seeking revenge after losing the Super Cup to Galatasaray on penalties in August but with home advantage here they’ll be confident of getting the job done. They’ve won all of their last 12 home games in the league and the run started with a 2-1 win over Galatasaray last December.

Besiktas have been conceding the odd goal at home though in recent times. 4 of their last 5 home wins in the league weren’t to nil and they’ve only kept one clean sheet in 6 matches in all competitions so far this season.
