Birkirkara vs Fiorita Predictions

• Birkirkana have been strong in pre-season with two wins in three friendlies.

Birkirkana primed for convincing win

Birkirkara come up against La Fiorita in Europa Conference League qualifying on Thursday as they bid to reach the main draw of a European competition for the first time in their history.

The four-time Maltese champions have been involved in plenty of qualifiers over the years but have enjoyed little success.  Birkirkara did stun Hearts in Europa League qualifying in the 2016/17 season with a 2-1 aggregate win, but they then lost to Russia’s Krasnodar in the next round, and the creation of this new competition may give them a chance to make bigger strides forward.

San Marino’s La Fiorita have been involved in qualifying for either the Champions League or Europa League in each of the last nine seasons but are yet to win a tie. 

La Fiorita have lost every game they have played in European qualifying and have conceded 49 goals in the process, scoring just two themselves.

Birkirkara had a mixed home record last season but have picked up two wins in three attempts in recent friendly games and they should have far too much for the San Marino side on Thursday.

Anything other than a home win would be a huge shock here and given La Fiorita’s struggles for goals in European qualifiers and we think Birkirkara can take a huge step towards the next round with a convincing 4-0 victory.
