      Birmingham to Win

      Reason for tip

Birmingham City look the stronger option at St Andrew’s, where they are unbeaten in nine Championship games. They come into this in solid overall form, losing just once in their last eight, and they are scoring consistently, including strong returns against bottom-half sides. Leicester City, by contrast, are struggling on their travels, without a win in four away matches and beaten in six of their last seven on the road. Birmingham’s home edge and Leicester’s dip make the hosts the sensible play.

      Birmingham 2-1

      Reason for tip

Goals at both ends look likely. Leicester’s defensive record is a major concern, with just one clean sheet in their last 26 Championship games and an average of 1.73 goals conceded per away match. Birmingham are scoring regularly but not blowing teams away, which points towards a narrow success rather than a rout. Seven of the last eight meetings between these sides have seen both teams score, and Leicester have already lost five times this season by a 2-1 scoreline, making that outcome a strong fit.

      Birmingham vs Leicester City Predictions

Birmingham primed to punish Leicester’s away woes

Birmingham are the best bet to beat Leicester at home in the Championship on Saturday. The visitors have lost three of their last four away games and could be heading for another defeat here.

Birmingham are 13th in the Championship, four places and four points above Leicester, with 11 wins, nine draws and ten losses from their 30 games this season. The visitors have won ten, drawn eight and lost 12.

Birmingham are in good form, having lost just one of their last eight Championship matches. They have gone nine games unbeaten at home.

They have scored in five consecutive games, including a 3-2 victory over Coventry last month, and have averaged two goals a game in their seven home matches against other bottom-half teams this season.

Backing Leicester’s opponents during their current run of four defeats in six Championship games would have resulted in a profit of 4.72 units.

The visitors’ recent results do not inspire confidence. Leicester have failed to win six of their last seven Championship away games and are without a win in four on the bounce.

The visitors have looked vulnerable in defence. Leicester have failed to keep a clean sheet in 25 of their last 26 Championship games and have conceded 26 goals in 15 away games this season – an average of 1.73 goals per game.

Birmingham may be able to edge out Leicester in a closely-fought game, with a 2-1 home win the correct-score pick. Seven of the last eight Championship meetings between these sides have seen both teams find the net, and Leicester have been on the wrong end of a 2-1 scoreline five times this season.
